Garden shed

The humble English garden shed has come a long way since my spotty youth. This is one of the latest iterations:

That looks more like an entire house to me. But this company -- it is by no means the only one -- specialises in garden sheds/extra rooms which are a cut above the ropey-looking wooden shacks with which I grew up. Here's the medium sized model:

As you may have guessed, I was toying with installing a new shed in my garden. Well, I call it a garden but, in fact, it is more like a small light well, providing semi-indirect shade into the back of my subterranean flat. Here's where I thought I might plonk the shed -- against this wall, where the chair is and where the phormium is squatting:

So this is the view I would have looking out:

Compactness being a virtue, I thought the smallest model might make a rather pleasant gazebo-like thing:

My garden is very overlooked by houses towering above it, so the advantage of such a shed is that I could sit inside, with the doors open, hiding under the cantilevered roof, gazing upon the verdant loveliness of my garden without being spied over by my annoying neighbours.

Whaddya think?

Interesting idea.

In fact, why should I stop at two?

You might just build a cantilevered roof of growing plants in that area. It's such a nice garden.

More info on this product here: http://www.atelierzone.com/

There are other companies, too, producing innovative garden structures.

Could there be a jacuzzi in the shed?

You just want those fit builders to come round again. That's your game, and we both know it...

Transparent?

Me?

Although if I took up Tom's idea, maybe the builders would have to test it with me and, like, you know, show me how it works and everything...

Yeah, I'm beginning to like this idea.

...would probably not meet the current hurricane code in Florida but it is a neat idea for you and especially keep those nosey neighbors wondering what you were doing in there with your friends.
