
But I was nervous: Merlin is BBC made-for-adolescents telly, with lots of mythical dragons (albeit voiced by John Hurt) and cheap magic effects.
I needn't have worried because within minutes there was some lovely man-flesh on display from our eponymous hero:

And then we were introduced to the once and future king himself:

Who gives a stuff about all that archaeological "evidence" and all the mythical heroic saga overtones? This is just a cute romp with a couple of cute, er, cuties.
Nothing wrong with that.
