Gleeful

A weird experience as hot Glee star Jonathan Groff (or, to give him his proper introduction, evil show choir star Jesse St James) appears on posters all over London.

Jesse -- I mean Jonathan -- is to star in a revival of an ancient (and not very good) play, which went on to be a not very good film starring Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve.

For me he will always be wearing a tight black T-shirt while bursting out all over in not very good songs.

Although in fairness to him he also got caught up in some contemporary controversy when, as one of the world's few out gay actors, he was criticised by some ranting Newsweek journo halfwit that it seemed wrong for Jonathan to play a straight character. Yes, because only convicted murderers should play serial killers, etc, etc.

But Jonathan perhaps has a broader range than my restricted mental image allows -- he featured, for example, in Ang Lee's interesting Taking Woodstock:

I dunno, though: it looks to me like the producers are taking no chances and are selling his West End debut on the basis of his casual, safe sexiness and wholesome good looks.

Yeah, that's probably a wise route to take, now I come to think about it.
